Organization of Turkic States Congratulates the People of Mangystau on Their Honorable Status

Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Merey Mukazhan, congratulated the people of Mangystau on Aktau being granted the status of Cultural Capital of the Turkic World.

He highlighted that the people of Mangystau, who proudly honor their national attire, were recently recognized in the Guinness World Records and emphasized that the region has long been making history. He also noted that preparations for the event are being carried out at the highest level.

“First and foremost, I sincerely congratulate the residents of the sacred land of Mangystau on Aktau becoming the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World. The preparations are truly impressive. As they say, the excitement before the celebration is often greater than the celebration itself — and we are witnessing that excitement firsthand. Everything is happening at a very high level. As a Kazakh citizen, I take great pride in Aktau receiving this title. The Organization of Turkic States fully supports this; it is our shared project.

Until now, Mangystau has been writing its own history. The people of this region, who promote the traditional Kazakh clothing, were recently entered into the Guinness Book of Records. And now, they are being honored as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World. May this sacred land — home to 362 saints — continue to flourish and prosper. We, as the Turkic world, always stand united in our intentions. I wish you all blessings and well-being,” said Merey Mukazhan, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States.

Merey Mukazhan also expressed his gratitude to the Mangystau regional administration, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the international organization TURKSOY for their efforts in organizing this large-scale event.
