Assystem partners with Kazakhstan on civil nuclear programme

Assystem, one of the world's leading independent nuclear engineering companies, has been awarded the role of Technical Advisor from Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants (KNPP) to support the Republic of Kazakhstan with the delivery of their nuclear programme.
Assystem will act as Technical Advisor to KNPP in the comprehensive provision and oversight of engineering, project management and construction services for the new nuclear power plants. Assystem will bring unrivalled expertise of the international nuclear landscape having partnered with most nuclear newcomer countries, most recently in the UAE, KSA and Türkiye, this is in addition to its leading Tier 1 position on the nuclear programmes in France and the UK.
The development in nuclear power in Kazakhstan is part of the country’s 2050 Strategy that aims to achieve 50% electricity generation from sources other than coal or oil, that today represent 70% of electricity generation. Since the beginning of 2025, Assystem has provided input based on international best practices and supported the refinement of the methodology of KNPP for technology selection aligned with IAEA recommendations (NP-T-1.10).
