Nearly 200 Guests from TURKSOY Member States Arrive for a Major Celebration in Aktau
Nearly 200 guests from Turkic-speaking countries have arrived in Aktau. Among them are about 50 high-ranking officials and heads of international organizations. Foreign performers have also come to Aktau to take part in the celebration. In addition, residents from all over Kazakhstan are flocking to the city to witness the large-scale event.
Since yesterday, exhibitions promoting shared values, customs, and traditions have been open to the public. These feature not only traditional Kazakh crafts, but also valuable artifacts from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey.
Aktau has now become the third city in Kazakhstan to be granted the title of “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World.” Previously, this prestigious event was held in Astana and Turkistan. Other member states have also hosted the project with great success. The event in Aktau is being organized by the International Organization TURKSOY, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information, and the Mangystau Regional Administration.
